August Goals

I have a lot of things happening this month, and I'm hoping I can accomplish at least half of it.

1.) Beyond The Veil goes to the editor on the 25th. This is the most important, and I know I will hit this deadline. I am almost done with my first pass of self-edits. I'm hoping to get a second pass, completed before I have to turn it over to the meanest editor in the land lol.

2.) My super not-so-secret project. I'm sure you all have guessed what it is by now, but I can pretend that you don't to help build suspense. I am working on Part 1 of the project, and I hope to have it done this week. So the question is, do a reveal as soon as I'm done with each part? Or wait until they're all done?

3.) My August reading challenge is now live! I'm hoping we can fill in the color wheel and I can do a giveaway for a collector's box!

4.) I have both monthly and weekly giveaways happening this month. I will be giving away an ebook every week, and a audiobook of Unbalanced at the end of the month. This is one of the things I know I can get done.

5.) I would like to make at least 15 sales this month. I have a local event on the 23rd, so I'm hoping I can get a few sales there. The rest will be online, which, I admit, I'm not very good at. I need to get better at marketing!

6.) Friday Night Writes is still going strong. We recently hit our 1-year mark, and we will be doing a giveaway to celebrate soon! We're almost to our goal of $1k raised for NAMI. I have a few more physical copies that I'm hoping I'll be able to sell at either the local event, or the one in Lexington in September.

7.) I am drafting two books right now; Aberration and a Dark Rom-Com. I am hoping to get 4000 words in both of these by th end of the month (about 1k a week). I also have a short story that I need to write for the Sinful Signings Anthology.

8.) Non-book related: My kids are older, all teenagers, and one has already moved out with two others making plans to leave soon. While this is cause for celebration, it does mean that more of the housework will fall on me. That's fine, but I need to find ways to accomodate my limitations. I want to spend an hour everyday cleaning a different part of the house. I want to see how long/how much effort it takes, and think of ways I can make it easier so once the kids are all gone, I'm able to keep up with it myself.

That's about it for me. I'll keep you updated as I go!

I still need to figure out a really cool sign off.....
